Foldspace for After Effects
Foldspace v1.2.0 for After Effects
The Ultimate Optical Flow-Driven Motion and Time Displacement Plugin for After Effects
File Size:114 MB
Download Foldspace v1.2.0 today. Consequently, you can create stunning, surreal motion effects by warping time and space based on the actual movement within your footage. Because motion designers and VFX artists constantly seek innovative, eye-catching visuals for music videos, transitions, and experimental films, having access to a tool that reimagines how footage can be manipulated is absolutely essential. Nevertheless, traditional time-remapping and displacement techniques often produce choppy, unconvincing results that lack the organic flow of true optical motion. Fortunately, Foldspace eliminates this bottleneck completely. Moreover, this powerful GPU-accelerated plugin uses advanced optical flow analysis to displace pixels based on their real-world motion vectors, creating a mesmerizing “folding” and “smearing” effect that feels alive and fluid. In short, you can transform ordinary footage into extraordinary, dreamlike visual experiences with unprecedented ease.
Optical Flow-Based Pixel Displacement Engine
The core of this plugin lies in its sophisticated analysis of motion within your footage. For instance, Foldspace calculates optical flow vectorsโthe direction and speed of every moving pixelโand uses this data to displace the image in ways that traditional time effects cannot achieve. Furthermore, you can control the intensity and direction of the displacement, causing elements to stretch, smear, and fold into themselves in mesmerizing patterns. Since the effect responds directly to the motion in your footage, the results always feel natural and physically plausible. Consequently, your visuals take on an ethereal, fluid quality that captivates the viewer.
Real-Time GPU Acceleration and Feedback
Professional workflows demand instant results, and Foldspace delivers. The plugin is fully GPU-accelerated, ensuring that all parameter adjustments update in real-time, allowing you to see exactly how your changes affect the final image. Furthermore, this real-time feedback lets you experiment freely and dial in the perfect look without waiting for renders. Additionally, the plugin is optimized for performance, so even high-resolution footage remains responsive. Since you can iterate at the speed of thought, your creative exploration becomes truly unlimited.
Versatile Time and Motion Controls
Foldspace offers a rich set of parameters that give you complete command over the effect. For example, you can adjust the time offset to blend frames from different moments in the footage, creating temporal echoes and ghosting effects. Additionally, you can control the displacement strength, direction, and falloff, enabling subtle enhancements or dramatic, full-frame transformations. Furthermore, blend modes and opacity controls let you composite the folded effect over the original footage for added versatility. Thus, you can achieve everything from gentle motion blur enhancements to complete reality-bending visuals.
Perfect for Motion Designers, VFX Artists, and Content Creators
This plugin is particularly well-suited for motion designers creating abstract transitions, dynamic backgrounds, and music-driven visuals. Similarly, VFX artists and experimental filmmakers will appreciate the ability to generate unique, organic effects that stand out from traditional plugins. Additionally, content creators and social media producers can use Foldspace to add a premium, artistic touch to their edits with minimal effort. Ultimately, Foldspace v1.2.0 accelerates your entire motion design and post-production pipeline.
System Requirements and Compatibility
Foldspace v1.2.0 supports After Effects versions 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 on both Windows and macOS operating systems. The plugin requires a modern GPU for optimal performance, as it relies heavily on GPU acceleration for its optical flow calculations. You will need a standard workstation with at least 8GB of RAM.
Installation and Usage Guide
To install, first download the plugin installer from your library. Next, close Adobe After Effects if it is running. Then, install the plugin following the standard aescripts + aeplugins installation process using the Manager App. After installation, launch After Effects and locate Foldspace in the Effects & Presets panel. Finally, apply the effect to your footage layer, adjust the time offset and displacement parameters to achieve your desired look, and blend the result with the original for added control. Thus, your professional optical flow motion workflow will be ready instantly.

Final Thoughts on the Plugin
Effortless optical flow manipulation evokes profound creative freedom. Therefore, this plugin provides the ultimate foundation for your motion design and VFX workflows. You can bend time and space within your footage with unprecedented speed and creativity. Consequently, your visual vision becomes a stunning reality.
GPU-accelerated plugin that lets you create, edit, and animate 3D curved surfaces directly in Adobe After Effects.
What is it?
Foldspace is a plugin for Adobe After Effects that gives you tools to bend, warp, and animate surfaces in 3D space.
What Foldspace Does
- Curved surface creation: Lets you generate 3D surfaces with bends or curves that arenโt possible with native After Effects tools.
- Animation of surfaces: You can animate control points on the surfaces and attach them to other layers, enabling dynamic motion rigs.
- Editable geometry: Foldspace provides UI controls for manipulating the shape and curvature of the surfaces.
- Material system: You can control the materials on each surface separately, and you can use any layer as a texture for a surface.
Curved Surfaces. Directly in After Effects.
Each surface is defined by 16 control points that can be positioned freely in 3D space. You can create any number of surfaces, each editable independently. All surfaces in a single effect instance share the same 3D space and can overlap and intersect.
Any Texture.
You can assign unique materials to every plane of a surface, including front, back, and, if the surface has thickness, the side planes (left, top, right, bottom). Each material includes physical properties like diffuse, specular, shininess, and opacity. You can use any layer in the composition as a source image for a texture.
Seamless Integration.
Any Foldspace object – surfaces or control points – can be attached to an After Effects layer. Attached objects inherit all transformations from that layer, including animation, letting you drive Foldspace surfaces using After Effectsโ native animation tools. Foldspace supports both native After Effects cameras and lights, as well as custom camera and light controlled directly from the effect.
Built for Animation.
Because any surface control point can be attached to a layer, you can animate each point independently and design custom animation rigs. In this example, each face of the cube is a Foldspace surface.
Unlimited Complexity.
Create as many surfaces as you need – thereโs no limit. Each surface can be edited independently, yet all exist in the same 3D space. Build scenes from separate surfaces or connect them to form complex shapes, as shown is this example.
Custom UI.
Foldspace includes a dedicated on-screen UI that appears when the effect is selected. This UI lets you interactively control surfaces and control points directly in the viewport. Position, rotation, and scale gizmos appear when an object is selected, allowing intuitive mouse-driven transformations in either local or global space.
Roll Modifier.
Roll parameters let you quickly create rolling animations that wrap a surface into tube- or spiral-like shapes using simple controls such as Angle, Tilt, and Radius.
High Performance.
Foldspace uses GPU-accelerated rendering via Vulkan on Windows and Metal on macOS, delivering fast performance even in complex scenes. The plugin requires a Vulkan- or Metal-capable GPU, with low minimum requirements (Vulkan 1.1, Metal 2). If youโre unsure whether your GPU is compatible, you can download the trial version of the plugin to test it.

Multi-Frame Rendering & 32bpc
Foldspace supports up to 32-bit-per-channel color depth and fully integrates with After Effectsโ multi-frame rendering for maximum image quality and performance.
