Glaze for After Effects

Glaze v1.0.0 for After Effects

The Ultimate One-Click Refractive Glass Plugin for After Effects

Download Glaze v1.0.0 today. Consequently, you can turn any layer—text, shapes, logos, or footage—into stunning, realistic glass surfaces with a single click. Because motion designers and UI artists frequently need to create premium glassmorphism effects and refractive elements, having access to a dedicated glass generation tool is absolutely essential. Nevertheless, simulating convincing glass with traditional methods like low opacity, blur, and mattes often results in flat, unconvincing results and cluttered project structures. Fortunately, Glaze eliminates this bottleneck completely. Moreover, it creates glass with real thickness derived from your layer’s own Alpha channel, allowing you to move, scale, or edit your source layer without rebuilding the entire effect. In short, you can achieve stunning, interactive glass visuals with unprecedented speed and simplicity.

Real Thickness and Interactive Refraction Engine

The core of this plugin lies in its ability to generate genuine optical depth from your artwork. For instance, Glaze reads the shape of your layer’s Alpha to create glass with realistic thickness, meaning light bends differently at the edges compared to the surface, producing a naturally dimensional look. Furthermore, the plugin renders interactively as you work, giving you instant visual feedback on every parameter adjustment without any waiting or pre-rendering. Since you can assign a Background Layer to determine exactly what shows through the glass—or use the built-in Studio—you maintain complete control over the final composition. Consequently, your glass elements will exhibit the optical realism of a real material rather than a simple warp effect.

Five Distortion Models and Comprehensive Material Controls

Professional glass work demands versatility across different styles and aesthetics. Therefore, Glaze provides five distinct refraction modes to suit any project. For example, Solid delivers clean, standard glass perfect for panels and titles, while Liquid creates soft, fluid water-droplet looks. Chaos produces swirling abstract distortions for bold effects, and Crystal generates faceted, gem-like refractions. Meanwhile, Real Glass simulates thick optical glass with natural rim wrapping. Additionally, you have full control over Refraction, Roughness, Frost, Glass Blur, Reflection, and Chromatic Aberration. By turning refraction down and reflection up, you can even create polished chrome and metal surfaces lit by the built-in studio. Thus, you can achieve everything from frosted panels to liquid-glass UI elements and metallic finishes within a single system.

Built-In Studio Lighting and Chrome Capabilities

Achieving convincing glass requires proper lighting and environmental reflections. Accordingly, Glaze includes a built-in Studio with HDRIs that provides realistic lighting and reflections without requiring any external setup. Furthermore, you can load your own HDRI if your project demands specific lighting conditions, ensuring the glass integrates seamlessly with your scene. Additionally, the plugin includes Reflection Blur controls that let you transition from mirror-like sharpness to satin-like softness, and Refraction Sharpen to keep the background crisp even through thick glass. Consequently, your glass and chrome elements will look naturally integrated into any lighting environment.

GPU Acceleration and Broad Compatibility

Glaze is engineered for modern production workflows. The plugin is GPU-accelerated on CUDA and Metal, with a CPU fallback for systems without compatible graphics cards. Furthermore, it supports After Effects 2026, 2025, and 2024, ensuring compatibility with recent versions. For macOS users, it is important to note that the plugin only supports M-series chips and does not support Intel-based Macs. Additionally, Anti-Aliasing options (2x / 4x) ensure clean edges on your final render. Thus, you can achieve professional-quality glass effects across a wide range of supported systems.

Perfect for UI Designers, Title Artists, and Motion Designers

This plugin is particularly well-suited for UI and app designers creating glassmorphism interfaces and liquid-glass buttons. Similarly, title artists and motion designers will appreciate the ability to create refractive text and logo reveals with realistic depth. Additionally, content creators and social media producers can leverage Glaze to produce premium frosted panels, lower-thirds, and chrome elements quickly. Ultimately, Glaze v1.0.0 accelerates your entire motion design and post-production pipeline.

System Requirements and Compatibility

Glaze v1.0.0 supports After Effects versions 2026, 2025, and 2024. The plugin is compatible with Windows and macOS, though Mac support is limited to M-series chips only. You will need a standard workstation with at least 8GB of RAM and a modern GPU for optimal performance.

Installation and Usage Guide

To install, first download the plugin installer from your library. Next, close Adobe After Effects if it is running. Then, install the plugin following the standard aescripts + aeplugins installation process using the Manager App. After installation, launch After Effects and locate Glaze in the Effects & Presets panel. Finally, apply the effect to your text, shape, or logo layer, choose your desired distortion model, assign a Background Layer or use the built-in Studio, and adjust the refraction and reflection parameters to achieve your perfect glass look. Thus, your professional glass effect workflow will be ready instantly.

What is Included Inside?

The pack contains the complete Glaze v1.0.0 plugin for After Effects. Furthermore, it includes five distortion models (Solid, Liquid, Chaos, Crystal, and Real Glass), comprehensive material controls, a built-in Studio with HDRIs, and GPU acceleration for real-time performance. Ultimately, you receive everything needed for professional refractive glass effects.

Final Thoughts on the Plugin

Effortless refractive glass creation evokes profound creative freedom. Therefore, this plugin provides the ultimate foundation for your motion design and UI workflows. You can transform any layer into stunning, realistic glass with unprecedented speed and simplicity. Consequently, your glassmorphism vision becomes a stunning reality.

Glass with real thickness.

Drop it on text, shapes or logos. Real refraction and thickness, read from the layer’s own alpha, not a flat warp. Any alpha works: outlined text, hairline strokes, a logo with holes in it, even an alpha movie.

Assign a Background Layer for what shows through, or leave it empty to use the built-in studio.

New: one sheet of glass over a whole stack, in one layer or two.

Drop Glaze Adjustment onto the layer you want to be the glass, and every layer below refracts through it at once. No background picker, no pre-composing, and you never build the adjustment layer yourself.

Most of the time it stays one layer: your shape, text, pre-comp or alpha footage becomes the glass where it already sits, and nothing is added to the timeline. When the layer carries its own effects, masks, a parent or time remapping, Glaze builds two layers instead, with a small helper above your artwork. In that setup an effect on your layer changes the glass shape as well, so Turbulent Displace makes the glass wobble. Split into two layers and Merge into one layer switch between them at any time, one undo either way.

Your layer stays yours: move it, scale it, rotate it, retype the text, and the glass follows.

Real-Time Interactive Preview

Glaze renders interactively as you work, letting you adjust thickness, refraction, roughness and other glass properties with instant visual feedback.

FIVE WAYS TO BEND LIGHT

Solid: clean, everyday glass.  Liquid: soft water-drop lens.  Chaos: swirling abstract distortion.  Crystal: faceted gem cuts.  Real Glass: thick optics that wrap at the rim.

Logo reveals · Liquid-glass UI · Titles & type · Frosted panels · Social & lower-thirds · Chrome & metal looks

NOT ONLY GLASS

Turn refraction down and reflection up for polished chrome — lit by the built-in studio, no HDRI required. Studio Light reshapes the highlights; Reflection Blur takes you from mirror to satin.

WHY GLAZE

• Real thickness from the layer’s own alpha — no 3D, no track mattes
