What is a Gobo?

A gobo (short for “goes before optics”) is a stencil or template placed in front of a light source to shape the light into patterns, textures, or images, commonly used in stage lighting, photography, and architecture,

Why Use Gobos?

Below you can see two scenes: One on the left looks dull and unnatural. The other is alive, shaped by shadow (aka gobo). So, Light isn’t just for seeing—it’s for feeling. We Break it up with gobos to create contrast, and let your render speak volumes.

Speeds up Rendering

In large scenes, adding actual objects such as trees, windows, and other elements solely for the purpose of generating realistic shadows significantly increases rendering times. For instance, a scene that originally takes 60 seconds per frame to render may extend to approximately 75 seconds per frame. When dealing with 500 or 1,000 frames of animation, this results in a considerable waste of computational resources. Fortunately, Gobos Master helps reduce render times by eliminating the need for additional geometry, thereby  optimizing efficiency, adding only 1 to 2 seconds of render time on top of your scene.

If you want Multiple Gobos Then You can Enable Multilayer Mode (Select layer, Apply, Position, rotate, scale it. then select the next layer apply on it)

if you want to swap the Gobo just select the layer and select the gobo from the asset library and press swap active layer gobo

The Gobos Master Addon Makes Applying Gobos Super Easy!

Simply Select the Gobo Category, Select the Gobo, Choose Where you want to Place the Gobo (At World, At Cursor, At Selected)
Then Hit Add Spot Light Gobo (if you are working with CYCLES). If you are working with EEVEE then Press Add Eevee Gobo Plane. And there you have it!
